Amber Hodgkiss was born in the UK in the town of Wigan. She attended Bridgewater School, Worsley, actively showing her passion for drama and acting. Amber attended weekly classes at the Octagon Youth Theatre in Bolton, appearing in numerous shows, in Manchester and London throughout her school years. In 2004 Amber had her first experience of acting on camera in the short film The Lucky Ones, playing Sam Saunders. It was in January of 2005 that she landed her first big television role, playing the role of Eleanor Smith in the popular children's drama Grange Hill. Amber went on to play Eleanor until 2007, and this role was a major turning point in Ambers acting career, allowing her to show her talent on national television. Within a year of finishing at Grange Hill Amber appeared in the popular television soap Doctors playing Kyla Myles. Then in early 2009 that she appeared in another BBC production, Proper Messy, where she played Sophie. In the same year Amber landed a role in the film The Spell with the role of Vicky, a supernatural drama where Amber played one of the leads. It was this role that took Amber to the Cannes film festival in an effort to promote The Spell, along with director Owen Carey Jones. Amber gained her next big television role playing Caroline in the UK soap Hollyoaks in 2010. The role involved Amber playing a mentally ill individual- an extremely emotional role which proved challenging, but which she pulled off successfully. Amber's most recent role is the character Emma in the supernatural drama Bedlam a Red Production filmed for Living TV. Screening 2011 She has played the role alongside other actors such as Will Young and Charlotte Salt. Amber currently attends the Manchester School of Acting under the renowned acting coach Mark Hudson.

THE SPELL tells the story of Jenny, a young girl who finds herself unwanted by either of her separated parents during the formative years of her life and leaves home at the earliest opportunity. However, live-in boyfriend Rick's associations with witchcraft and black magic soon take her down a path which leads to the most horrific experience of her young life.
